As part of our year 6 literacy work, our pupils recently entered the Central South poetry competition, entitled "What makes a great teacher?". Pupils from across the region (Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend, Merthyr & RCT) took part, and the top 100 poems have been displayed at the Cardiff City stadium. Remarkably, 11 out of the top 100 were from Pencoed Primary! A massive congratulations to the following pupils:
Sophie Bowen, Millie Andrews, Freya Thomas, Iestyn Deere, Morgan Sweet, Hope Evans, Dan Johnson, Harison Eden, James Roberts, Laini Lewis and Shirley Chen.
This really is a marvellous achievement. Da Iawn pawb!
I was very honoured to be part of the very moving Remembrance Day service in Pencoed on Sunday. It was fantastic to see so many people marking this very important occasion, where we remembered all the local people who have lost their lives, not only in the first and second world wards but in more recent conflicts.
I was incredibly proud of all the children from the school, who showed great respect and responsibility.
The toddler and baby group runs every Friday in the Key Stage 2 hall. Look at these fabulous pictures of all the children having loads of fun!
Please see Mrs Jenkins if you are interested in attending.
