Musical Instruments

Instruments

There are opportunities for pupils to learn to play a variety of instruments that are taught by the three peripatetic teachers who visit the school weekly.  Our current arrangements are as follows:

Strings – Mrs. Goss

Year 5 and 6 pupils can learn to play the violin, viola or cello.

Woodwind – Mrs. Jones

Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils can learn to play the flute or clarinet.

Brass – Mr. Westacott

Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils can learn to play a variety of brass instruments.

These lessons are provided free of charge for our pupils and access to them varies each year depending on the amount of time the teachers have been allocated to our school and the number of instruments which are available e.g. a pupil may begin learning the flute in Year 4 and could potentially have that instrument until they leave our school.

Throughout the school year all instrumentalists have an opportunity to perform to an audience.
