PPS Football team win the Cardiff City FC Cup
Pencoed Primary School's Football team had a great day at the Cardiff City FC Kids Cup on Tuesday 13th January.
After seven matches they were crowned group winners and have progressed to the next round on Thursday 29th January 2015.
The team played against schools from Cwmbran, Cardiff, RCT and the Vale of Glamorgan and scored lots of fantastic goals. Captain Luis Barham-Young scored the most memorable goal which crashed against the cross bar from 20 metres out. It really was a superb goal which would be better suited to ‘Match of the Day’.
There was lots of tension at the end of the tournament because Pencoed had to wait for confirmation of their win. They and Ysgol Y Wern (Cardiff) were level on 16 points but Pencoed won the group with a much higher goal difference.
Well done to the boys and good luck in the next round.
