  • School Categorisation

    Thu 28 Jan 2016

    Pencoed Primary is Green!

    The National Categorisation System helps identify those schools in Wales in need of the most support. Under this system, schools are assessed on both their performance and their ability to improve.

    All schools in Wales have be allocated one of four colours with green representing the top performing schools, yellow for good schools, amber for schools in need of improvement and red for schools in need of the most improvement.

    We are delighted to announce that we have been judged to be a Green School for 2015/6. This is the highest rating and means that we have been judged to be;

    "A highly effective school which is run well, has strong leadership and is clear about its priorities for improvement.  These schools have a track record in delivering excellent outcomes for their pupils and have the capacity to support other schools to do better."

  • Strategic Equality Plan

    Wed 27 Jan 2016

    As a school in Wales, Pencoed  Primary is required by law to review and publish its Strategic Equality Plan (SEP). The purpose of the plan is to show the steps we plan to take to make Pencoed Primary a fairer place.

    In our plan we have to include a series of equality objectives (some of the things that we plan to do) to show how we intend to promote equal opportunities for all and make a real difference to the lives of pupils, parents, school staff and governors in Pencoed Primary.

    In order to help us review and formulate our plan please would you complete the attached questionnaire and return it to school by Monday 22nd February.  We will take into account the things that you tell us are important to you in terms of equality and fairness, and this will help us to develop our equality objectives.

    Please click on the consultation document to read our current objectives and make comment.

    Please contact the school office if you need any further information.
